DS5 managed to sign his first TWO WORD sentence yesterday , nothing particularly exciting: "aeroplane + gone" when a plane flew out of sight (an acheivement in itself really as he displays many autistic traits and didnt realise that he was aware of real aeroplanes, only those in picture books!). BUT, YAY!!!!! a real sentence!

He doesnt sign anything of use yet (ie juice, food, etc) but im hopeful )

AND

he now has a 3-word vocab: "again, go, gone" which to the untrained ear sound almost identical , but we can tell .

PS i sometimes feel a bit of a fraud for posting my proud mummy moments , as i know that many of your DC's manage to do amazing things given their circumstances. But im proud of him and wanted to share.

misscutandstick, that is fantastic! No fraud there. Shows real understanding, too.

That's a fantastic achievement, Misscutandstick.

Don't feel like a fraud! If you look in the SN archives we've had long threads in the past where everyone posts their latest proud moments.

My current proud moment is that ds2 (5) has stayed dry for 3 whole days in a row. He usually has 4 or 5 accidents a day. My face looks something like this:

I had a 'mad mommy' moment that was almost impossible to believe. I told DS1 (ASD) that he could have 5 more mins in the playpark and he said 'Thanks'. At least I think he did, I hadn't been at the christmas sherry and I don't think I was dreaming.

The two word sign is fantastic - everyone agrees that going from one to two words is very important for development.

that is fantastic misscutandstick

cs - take it as given and enjoy

ct - I hope I am able to post that at the end of the holidays in regards to dd1!
