ds retched at the dentist for about 5 mins without being sick, although he has been very sick lately as he has a cold/bad cough.

he is mostly just bringing up what he has eaten orally as he has a very slow transit and stuff seems to hang about his oesophagus for a while but twice now he has brung up milk from his stomach when hes coughed really hard.

we saw the hospital surgeon on monday for his follow up appointment and he said that this is normal and just due to the coughing.

he also had a look at the granulation and said it looked pretty normal too and that it was usually caused by infection and the steroids were just to keep the granulation in check till the infection died down, first time i'd heard that, community nurse said it was granulating cos it was loose?

hello yes my DD had a fundo October 07. The first few times she had a cold (or tried to eat) she just retched with nothing coming out. Since April this year though so 6 months after the op she has been able to be slightly sick (not even a handfull ). This is usually accompanied by a bit of bile. The surgeon said was probably as the fundo had relaxed a bit.

Hope it settles down soon for you.

Do you have open access or an outreach team you coud ask for advice? if so or maybe ask your GP about putting dioralytle (sp!) through the tube for 24 hours so at least some sugars and salts are retained while the bug is around.
