Motability charging me £160 to replace a seat belt - can you believe it??

Just cant believe it!! Accidental damage (god knows when) to the front passengers seat belt, been like it a while, thought I would ask the garage whilst in there for a replacement one as it must be dangerous - Motability say because I caused the damage I have to pay for it. Talk about expensive!!! Has anyone else ever had the same thing happen and got the big wigs of motability to cough up - would appreciate any advice. Have already told the garage that it was probably my 15 yr old disabled son that did it when he was in the passenger seat.
Please help!!!

sorry-normally you have to pay the excess usually about £100 with motorbility, but I thought fully comp ins should pay for ANY damage, inc seatbelts, ripped seat covers etc.?
