was in bed last night with ds (thats when we have our chats) well he said her had a bad tummy so bad he could walk ,talk he just likes to stay still with it hes had a few times dont know weather its appendix ,have took him to gp befor with it he says it could be trapped wind as he gets worried about things.

anyway he said had it in class at first lesson and still at play time couldnt move in playground was crying by this time ,not one teacher had seen him like this in pain and crying or sitting funny, one boy came and asked why hewas crying but ds said he coulnt talk so the bot went of laughing he wouldnt tell as hes so scared, so now i know how they miss his aspergers as they carnt even pick up when ill.

itwent as soon as it came but knowing he needed meas realy upset me.

poor thing, hope he feels better today Trace.

and poor M, how is he doing? could school explain how it happened?

magso · 04/12/2008 10:05

Oh poor ds! Do you mean that no adult noticed his distress?

Ds also had severe tummy pain - couldn't stand/walk - scared to sleep (Ds has asd and doesn't fear much and is fairly pain tolerant) we thought it might be appendix , a+e blamed his constipation but the Gp (eventually) decided it was muscle cramps caused by some inflamed glands in his tummy due to a fighting off a bug. Prescribed muscle relaxants fixed it. Prob not the same as your son but Gp said it was rare so I thought I would mention it!
(We also had problems with staff not noticing ds needs at ms school - once when collecting ds (a robust child with very little speech) I was told ds had been disruptive -kept crying in class. No one bothered to find out why!! I saw immediatly (Ok it was a red sweatshirt)that my 'naughty' child was in pain, pale and his shirt and sweatshirt were stuck down with dried and ousing blood. He had serious grazes all up his tummy from being pushed /dragged over!)
Hope Ds is Ok (Hugs)

Oh Tclanger poor M!

BriocheDoree · 04/12/2008 10:11

Makes you sick doesn't it! Poor Trace2's DS and poor TC's DS. Teeth out and all - that's really nasty!!

needmorecoffee · 04/12/2008 10:18

sorry Trace. This used to happen to ds1 who has aspergers. Its why I home educated him and he beacme a different child.
And its why I'm petrified about dd being at school cos she has no speech at all.

Know what you mean NMC, absolutely freaks you out that you have no idea what they do at school! DD is relatively verbal, but not enough to let me know what's going on and if she comes home upset I have no idea what's happened! Can't imagine what it would be like for a completely helpless child like your DD...

fatzak · 04/12/2008 22:42

Hello Trace how are you and DS? Sorry to hear he's not having a good time at school - that makes two of them!! W moved schools now but the old probs are back and his epilepsy still not under control at night so back to the being wiped out and unable to concentrate during the day

We have appt with the Ed Psyc next week - not sure down which route we are going as epilepsy consultant firmly believes we should get the sleep stuff sorted before we start looking at ADHD etc.

E mail me won't you - we should get the boys together some time? Hope things are on the up with DD

Oh I think he likes his new school trace - he is so vague most of the time that we have no idea what he is thinking Totally in a world of his own at the moment most of the time.
