Appeal Meeting with Governors tomorrow - please send positive thoughts at 4pm

Our appeal against DS's permanent exclusion goes to the school governors tomorrow and I would appreciate all your lovely positive thoughts bending our way at 4pm! Whilst I don't think for one minute they will do anything other than uphold the decision I need some backbone for the meeting so I don't turn into a screechy old crone and weep loudly over everyone.

I have written the statement to governors but DH is going to read it out and do all the questioning as I can't trust myself to keep it together.

Lots of our professionals and people at the LEA say we have a strong case for disability discrimination and so we intend to pursue this to independent appeal.

Thanks for all the support and advice on the other thread our Parent Partnership lady has been well impressed with my knowledge of things!!!

How did it go?

WedgiesMum · 04/12/2008 21:54

No surprises that the governors upheld the head's decision, although one did say that they wished there was a 3rd option to not exclude but say his reinstatement was conditional on a managed move. He also told me he thought I was a great mum.

We are very but not in any way surprised at the outcome. Tried to come across as reasonable even when the head accused me of lying - twice! Mostly kept my cool but did get a bit teary a couple of times.

Thanks for all your hugs and support.

Much love,

WMxxx

but lovely to get that recognition that you're a great mum...which you clearly are.

I hope you're going ahead with the disability discrimination thing though. It would be so lovely to get an apology for you and especially for him.

dustystar · 05/12/2008 14:56

Sorry to hear they upheld the heads decision I know its what you expected but you must still feel gutted {{{hugs}}}
