This may have done before, but was anyone on Clomid?

Just as the title says really, dh was talking to a chappy today who has 2 kiddies, one with autism and he was a clomid baby, as was my ds.

I wondered as there are so many side affects with Clomid could there be a connection so I googled it and found that it could have something to do with a testosterone surge during conception.

Has anyone else taken Clomid? And has anyone heard of this before (Im sure you all have, just interested)

Side effects with clomid have been reported namely tummy and bowel upsets, bloating, headache, dizziness, depression and bowel discomfort.

Have also read there is no increased risk of birth defects from fertility drugs.

Clomid is actually designed to make the ovaries work harder, it is mainly prescribed to women who present with ovulatory problems. I have ovulatory problems but I was told by my gynae cons it would not help me.

I took clomid for first two pregnancies and ds1 is NT whereas ds2 is ASD. I'd hate to think that me taking it was the cause.

Hi everyone thanks for responding.

To be honest I kind of got a bit of comfort for it, as without it the clomid I would not have Alfie, I knew the risk, didnt for one minute think they would come true, but I did know that lots of side affects.

i was on clomid and have twins who are 7. Dt1 is NT. Dt2 has dyspraxic and ADD traits. Note sure what the future holds for him really and never ever stop worrying about him. However he is a wonderful, thoughtful and caring boy that i wouldnt be without. never heard of the connection before . off to google!
