If you had a day to yourself, what would you do?

I would:
Sleep
Take the longest, most lovely bath ever taken.
Indulge in some very spicy food, followed by some very yummy dessert.
And lastly I would.........

worry about the dds!

So, what about the rest of you?

I would go away to a county hotel that was offering some sort of craft activity.
That way, I would be less likely to worry about the DS's!!!

Nat1H · 28/11/2008 09:31

Country - not county

cory · 28/11/2008 09:32

I could get on with cleaning the house without somebody constantly whingeing at me from the bed.

Woooozle100 · 28/11/2008 09:35

lie in for ages. Read the paper in bed. Have sex. Shower together. More sex. Then have a long bath on my own whilst dh cooks me a fabulous meal. Maybe read a book (wow remember them!)whilst soaking. Eat a sumptuous, leisurely meal and drink nice wine. Go back to bed and sleep for as long as possible

SammyK · 28/11/2008 09:35

Oooh

My list would be very much like DBs, I'd like to say I would clean the house but I would definately be kidding myself . . .

ohdearwhatamess · 28/11/2008 09:43

Have breakfast in bed with a big pile of weekend papers.

Long and lazy bath.

Long dog walk.

Go and give the garden a big tidy up.

Bake something.

Laze on sofa watching a film and drinking wine.

cyberseraphim · 28/11/2008 09:47

Like TB - Have a day wandering about in charity shops/coffee shops - worrying about the DS's

Buckets · 28/11/2008 14:41

Go for a really 'hard' massage, like you get at a Turkish hamam! I do like to be squished.

Lunch out with female friends.

Rest of the day with DH doing something non-TV together.

BriocheDoree · 28/11/2008 14:43

Right now, I'd say go shopping! Not usually my fave activity but I haven't bought any new clothes for years and most of mine are falling apart!
And, most likely, miss my kids!
I could go for the hammam too, that does sound like fun!

jenk1 · 28/11/2008 15:52

oooh i would have a lie in,then comedownstairs to a magically clean and tidy house that someone else had done for me!!!

have a long long bath with candles, cup of tea and a book.

get taken out shopping to prob the trafford centre and a nice lunch out.

come home and change into comfy pjs

chill for the rest of the day

watch what I WANT on the TV at night (cos obv the kids would be away, its a day AND night to myself) while DH gets a curry from our favourite place, nice glass of wine and then a steamy night upstairs!!!!!

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 28/11/2008 15:56

It couldn't happen, as I have such a humungous backlog to clear!

However:
if this could happen I would

sleep in
have an uniterrupted bath
actually dry my hair

then get bored.

sad but true

Seuss · 28/11/2008 20:53

Endless cups of tea and a good book, bit of a doze, more tea, more reading, maybe nip out for a bit of lunch, buy some shoes..

I'm sure at some point I would start missing them all???!?!?

Widemouthfrog · 28/11/2008 21:11

Wake up in my own time in the morning without an alarm call from 2.5 year old. Long bath with a book. Meet friends for lunch, maybe a film at the cinema?
Lazy evening in PJs with rest of good book and an early night with DH .

RaggedRobin · 28/11/2008 21:53

go out dancing the night before

then sleeeeeeeeeep all day

i can't believe my weekends used to be like that.

Sidge · 28/11/2008 22:05

Ohhhhhhhhh you're just teasing!!

I would:

Sleep
Watch a film
Read my book
Have sex
Pop out to the shops for chocolate or crisps (I can't normally do 'popping out', everything is planned like a military operation!)
Sleep some more
Go out for a meal and a few drinks with friends

catch up with my sleep in the morning, then go to the gym, after that a nice long shower, and then a great book for the rest of the day, in the afternoon some TV.

HelensMelons · 29/11/2008 11:06

Drink tea, eat M&S victoria sponge cake (yum), read, have a late lunch and watch back to back, Matrix, or Terminator or Diehard, something like that. God, that sounds lovely.

ouryve · 29/11/2008 14:29

I'd have a nice bath then do some really fiddly knitting with some really lovely yarn!

supportman · 29/11/2008 19:37

Would go out on my bike for the whole day if the weather was nice. Although between working at school in the week and my dp families at the weekend and holidays I don't get much time off at all. That said, it is my choice do so much, so I take my hat off to everyone who don't have that choice.

Seuss · 29/11/2008 20:16

I see most of us have gone for the sleep/bath/book option - we are a wild bunch aren't we!

Supportman - If your day sounds good too, perhaps if I had 2 days to myself...

raspberrytart · 29/11/2008 20:28

On a frosty, clear day (like today)a long walk up a hill walking at normal walking speed (not 2 steps every minute) with flask of tea and some gingerbread at top then when back down said hill get some yummy food from posh food shop before going home to a long hot soak in't bath with dh and lots of wine.

mumgoingcrazy · 29/11/2008 21:19

I would definately wake up in my own time, and not be woken by the kids. Drive down to the coast and take the dog for a really long walk just me and him all day like we used to and then come home to a fab meal cooked by DH.

Heaven!

Arabica · 29/11/2008 23:29

Lots of sleep (of course), an uninterrupted half hour in the bathroom, (hey, would settle for 5 mins), and lots and lots and lots of uninterrupted adult conversation, spicy food, 30 mins to spend browsing in book shop, and lots of money to spend on some impractical clothing!
