Don't spend it all at once now

glitteryb6 · 25/11/2008 20:39

yeah it lists carers allowance and DLA as qualifying...wonder if we'll get 2 lots of £60?

found this too...

"Families with disabled children will benefit from a one-off payment of £60 in January on top of the annual £10 winter bonus."

so looks like 2 payments one with the carers allowance and one with the DLA so we should be £120 up

and the child benefits going up to £20 a week too...it all adds up

"...on top of the annual £10 winter bonus..."

Does that mean i was supposed to get the £10 for the last few years? cos i never have done.

needmorecoffee · 26/11/2008 08:54

reckon thats each? both me n dd get DLA and I get Carers for her. Maybe thats three lots.
That would seriously sort out our heating issue in that if I knew it was coming I could turn the heating on.
Having a little weep here as I've been so worried.

misscutnstick - I always get a letter stating the £10 extra.

Marne · 26/11/2008 17:23

oh thats great , we have spent dd's dla £10 bonus already on some paint and a puzzle for dd2. £60 would be great to spend in the sales.

dustystar · 26/11/2008 17:25

I wonder how we can find out if its payable on each benefit or will be one payment per household in receipt of qualifying benefit. It says you don't need to claim and that it will be added automatically so maybe it will be one payment per qulaifying benefit. I hope so.

NMC 'Christmas Bonus is a one-off payment of £10. For 2008 an additional payment of £60 will be paid between January 2009 and March 2009.

If you're part of a married or unmarried couple or civil partnership and both of you are entitled to one of the qualifying benefits you'll each get a Christmas Bonus payment and, for 2008, the additional £60.'

does that help?

dh is entitled to it as well. which is handy as some lorry decided to drive into him last week and that took £75 for excess on the ibnsurence which we may get back.

SparklyGothKat · 26/11/2008 20:04

does that mean I will get 2xDLA and 2X carers?? Both me and DH are on Carers as we have 2 disabled kids, so would I get an extra £240? I get £40 extra at xmas (2x£10 on DLA and 2x10 on carers)

nuru · 26/11/2008 20:40

just out of interest, when does the CA £10 get added on? we've had the DLA £10 in the Nov payment, but nothing extra in the CA. it's my first year claiming CA, so want to make sure it doesn't get missed off!
the £60 will be a welcome bonus

glitteryb6 · 29/11/2008 10:54

nuru, you should get the £10 in this weeks payment, just checked my account and ive had mine today.
