I have honestly just had enough of the battles, tears etc that we have to put up with so said to senco enough is enough and they have agreed that dd can do her reading and homework at school.
It took dd nearly 2 hrs over 3 days to do a tiny little story but the stress it has caused is not worth it.
I feel like such a weight has been lifted

Brilliant! Best part about sn school is no compulsary homework! Now we do what is fun and ds is interested in and progress is faster! Aversion to books gone at last.

OMG I used to tear my hair out when trying to get ds to do his homework, thankfully things have changed as he now gets very little homework but oh my, I will never forget how dreadful it was for me and ds. So totally understand how relieved you must both be feeling

mags and mcwoozy it's just not worth the stress is it? I have heard lots of asd kids find it hard due to their literal thinking that school is school and home is home iykwim
