He is 3 this week, and almost certainly ASD.

DD is poorly and I have just listened in on them for a while as he reads her her favourite book 'splish splash splosh, big red bath' Then I went into their room and he was fussily tucking her covers in and giving her teddies.

It's a much needed moment that makes me think whatever hurdles we face, he's a beautiful loving little man.

His speech is a massive problem,i.e he doesn't speak, but he is great at reciting familiar things.

hence FIL telling everyone he can read!?

He is so loving and caring to DD (she is three days short of a year younger)

Your FIL maybe doesn't understand the SN your son has?

He sounds lovely.

Thankyou ladies you , as ever, can be relied on to bring a smile to my face.

I'm very proud of him. So much so I didn't mind as I was bathing DD he ran in, grabbed her pjs. nappy and dressing gown and threw them into the bath saying 'cosy'

Some days I'd have gotten angry

oh dear - that "cosy" really made me laugh!! sorry! he sounds like a lot of fun. what a nice brother.

i had a similar one with ds yesterday - it was an andrex puppy moment where he had unravelled a whole roll of toilet paper. i caught him standing in the living room with one end of it, saying "too big." i had to stifle a laugh.
