here?

2shoes · 21/11/2008 22:51

I know it sounds greedy but I want a new one.
I would rather stick with this one than have a second hand one.
(this one is tiresome and sooooooooooo slow)

I agree actually. My laptop is only 2 yrs old and a bloody dinosaur compared to DPs work one!

Most charities will re-furbish old ones. Would that not do for DD? You can add extra memory etc so it runs fast enough.

If I was going to that, I would do that with this one. but I need a bigger screen as well. as this one is diddy.

I'm looking for a charity too cos dd needs a laptop that will fit on her tray as she cant see more than a foot.
There's a lady in the Disability Forum who says she knows of a charity so when I get the details I'll forward them on.

del were doing six months interest free credit when dh bought his new pc a couple of months ago.

You can pick up a fairly decent one now for about 450 quid.

wannaBe · 22/11/2008 09:29

oh and I haven't forgotten about trikes - still planning on doing hike just when it's a bit less cold.

I know this is an obvious one but could Family Fund help?

They helped fund the purchase of PECS software and a printer, laminator etc for my DS1. So they are ok for funding IT equipment.

monstermansmum · 22/11/2008 12:20

here, also cerebra, The Caudwell trust and local Lions clubs are worth trying.

How big a screen and how new do you want it? We have an old 17" screen works really well but it is huge Not sure how I could get it to you but you can have it if we can work out the transportation. That might help a little?

2shoes, I have a friend who could be of help to you. She runs a small charity. The only thing is, her charity isn't in the UK. If you are interested I'll put you in contact with her.

She could purchase it online for you and have it delivered. Would that be of any help?

callmeovercautious thanks for the kind offer. but tbh the pc is just old. it crashes a lot and is soooooooo slow.
makes doing clicker stuff a bit hard.
