An out of school club set up by our school has recieved funding from them, so another yes.

Nope - nothing (son with LF ASD and epilepsy)

slackrunner · 14/11/2008 22:34

not that I'm aware of - however have had help from charities that have been supported by businesses and/or the national lottery.

Local charity set up HFA/Aspergers youth club with grant from Children in Need and lottery.

Crossroads had some funding from them and offered us a carer for 6 hours for the summer holidays a few years ago.

needmorecoffee · 15/11/2008 09:59

no. Is it only for organisations or do individuals get helped?
Crossroads told me they don't help with children.

vjg13 · 15/11/2008 12:09

Crossroads support carers and offered someone to take my daughter out whilst I had a break. This was about 3 years ago.

needmorecoffee · 15/11/2008 12:56

I've called them several times this year to get help. Maybe its this local branch or maybe its cos dd is disabled herself?

vjg13 · 15/11/2008 14:29

Our local branch now only offer help if you aren't getting direct payments. They did have a massive (about 2 year) waiting list too.

coppertop · 15/11/2008 15:06

Not that I know of.

Romy7 · 17/11/2008 12:04

yes - we run a local charity providing out of school activities (music/ drama/ dance/ art/ festivals) for children and young people with disabilities, and we apply for money from lots of places for funding.

(here the crossroads funding has been shoved in a local authority account for years as it was so little they couldn't offer it to anyone, so it's still unallocated - don't start me on that...)
