Well we saw consultant today, was a rushed appointment as Jack started to have more seizures and night time one's again

Jack is currently on lamotrogine 5 x5mg tabs morn and nite, and nitrazepam 5ml morning n nite, and epilim upped to 5ml today from 4ml morning n night, but if there is no difference with epilim increase by couple weeks h will b taken off it and given keppra

Is keppra good? Was also told today tht Jack's epilepsy will prob never be controlled, which I did kinda think anyway, but still really sad

no personal experience but I think just from what I've read on here it is meant to be pretty good.

Hi. My ds has Angelman Syndrome and their epilepsy in notoriously difficult to control. Alot use Keppra, especially in America. My ds uses Piracetam which is a 'cousin' of Keppra + epilim (episenta granules). He was also on carbamazipine after a bad episode of seizures but we managed to wean him off untill it becomes nec again. Not nice to see our kids going through it. Hope it works for you.

Hello. This might not be much help but I'm on 500 mg Keppra twice a day (having been through epilim, lamotrigin, carbamazipine and pheny something).

I have JME (started when I was 14 years old). None of the other drugs has ever controlled my seziures until I started Keppra in April and almost immediately became seizure free.

My neurologist (at Walton Centre in Liverpool) raves about it. I know that I am relatively lucky when it comes to the form of epilespy I have but Keppra has improved my quality of life immensely

Love and hope all goes well
