Been given a paltry 25 hours a year one to one with SLT for dd. Her SLT (the useless one) reckons her boss wont let her recommend more for dd in the statement report but surely it should be what the child requires?

Seeing the LEA bod on Thursday as have threatenend tribunal.
In your proffessional opinion....child with severe quad CP, no speech but vocalises and tries to speak, would be able to use a communoication device with proper switch and training.
How many hours a year should a child like that get one to one SALT in an ideal world. How much is reasonable to ask for?
Oh, and caseworker tried to claim SALT wasn't an 'educaional need'. So I quoted the court case on the IPSEA website. sheesh.

How did you get on NMC?

hmm, not too bad. DH did come in the end, took a friend who is the Equalities officer for the council as a psychological boost (and it made Mr Nobend nervous) and Mr Nobend had a new bouffant hairstyle that made me choke which i had to turn into a cough.
He is going to go back to the SALT to ask that the 25 hours are contact time only and extra hours are needed for traning/meetings etc. Unfortunately she is hostile and told me we were lucky to get more than 12 hours a year. He also didn't make it clear if he would accept a private SALT assessment of need over the NHS one.
He also accused us of being semantically picky then spent 10 mins telling us that dd couldn't have hydrotherapy cos the physio only said it would be 'benefiaical' rather than 'essential' ffs.
So I dunno until I see the new amendment.

how did the piece of paper thing go? Am asking because I was hugely impressed by the idea but wondered if it might be hard to carry it off.
