Hi we have just strted using Pecs with dd2 (possible ASD), so far it seems to be going well but she is finding the handing over of the pictures a bit hard. She is using the to choose foodd and drinks and will point to the one she wants but still needs prompting to hand the card to me.

Is anyone else using pecs with there child? and if so ,how long does it take before they get the hang of it?

No it doesn't/ Noone has all the answers. We need to work together and share what we have.
SALTs in turn are very sniffy about ABA although thankfully my team aren't/ They are very excited about it. I have arranged a lot of presentation s on it to whet thier appetites.

I'm investigating Marion Blank. i have a child who might benefit...

DIL we need to meet. Weirdly ds1's speech has started with the program (or at least has coincided with it), which was something I didn't expect, and had been told by Marion was unlikely (because of his apraxia). He is much more vocal. Trying new words all the time and getting some right ('My Mummy' yesterday )

ooh I'm looking forward to starting the reading stuff proper (receptive language is like wading through treacle with ds1- I hadn't realised just how massive his language problems are - he hides it well). Have emailed you
