Arrghhhh!!!!! Son is dyslexic. He broke his foot in rugby and has been off school since Tuesday waiting for the walking cast to be put on (had to keep foot up, school not happy to have him back whilst this is so as it's a massive site). I phoned the school straight away on Tuesday to say can he have some work please. Nothing. Wednesday, phoned again, got a call back late Weds from his house master to say his tutor would organise something. Chased again. Nothing. Son chased again yesterday. The school have our email addresses and four phone numbers for us and we're a short drive from the place. She phoned on my mobile (which was switched off) last night (Friday!)at 8.30pm to say she now had some work for him. He's back in blardy school on Monday anyway and of course we can't get the work now as it's the weekend.

I've been giving him things to do, but that's four days he's going to have to try to catch up with in his GCSE year, and it'll put pressure on him as he has to take SO long over each piece of work anyway. We'll be contacting the Head teacher, I think, because this is just silly.

Oh that's terrible! It reminds me of when I was in year 9, I was off for about 2 weeks after an eye operation, my mum asked for a small amount of work as I couldn't strain my eyes too much. They sent a HUGE folder full of stuff!

Well, tutor at school said she couldn't find any other way to contact me, just my mobile phone number, which is odd since the school's been emailing me and phoning me on other numbers for three years. And son has been marked down by two teachers for not handing in work last week when he was at home with a broken foot and the school had been told of it . Wonder what on earth is going on in there...it's normally such a good school. Not a word back from the HT. I think it'll be a meeting. I hate meetings
