I am so pissed off at not being able to see DS2 as a 'normal' child

Since starting school 10 days ago, he has had 4 afternoons and a morning off (due to the endless round of appointments) as well as specialist teachers, physios etc coming into school. I know I shouldn't moan, especially as some parents can't get the support their child needs, but I just want to see him as a 'normal' child every now and then, rather than one who can't do anything on his own
Just to keep the reality check WELL up to date, he decided to poo in the bath tonight as well! Just what I needed.
Poor DS1 is banging on the bathroom door because he is desperate for a wee, and I am up to my eyes in s**t!
Think I need to open the wine.

For some reason, life is always MEGA hectic!
The school holidays are the best because I refuse to see any professionals then, and I get to see DS2 as 'normal' (most of the time). I think going back to school as thrown me back in at the deep end and I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself!

ah I was going to suggest a break from appointments if it was getting to you so much, but looks like you've just done that. hope next few weeks are a bit less busy.

I know where you are coming from, Nat, although I'm not as busy as you. DD1 will have missed 2 afternoons and a morning by the end of this week. She is 7.9 and I am concerned that her friends will start to notice her abscences.

Hopefully, things might calm down a bit for you when your ds is more settled in school.

I thought we'd cracked it this term- dd had nearly two weeks of full attendance, but today she's in bed again and I suspect this is where it starts. Good job we showed the school her previous attendance record when she started; they should know what to expect.

DS2 is still at home with me, but sometimes it seems like all I do is take him to appointments (luckily medical ones seem to have almost stopped) or do therapy with him.

I hardly ever just hang out with him, even playing seems like therapy to me!

We have Friday "off", so I think I might do something I want to do and take him to soft play before / after!

I know what you mean. DD gets visits at nursery now too, her physio is going in today and OT next week--I hope her lovely keyworker doesn't feel she is being observed/judged.
I want to do fun things with DDat her age DS loved everything I took him tobut she finds noisy drop-ins/playgrounds overwhelming and either clings to me or tries to escape. Even soft play at the portage drop-in was a bit much for her as there were too many kids there. Luckily she does like soft play at our local leisure centre as there aren't too many kids going and it's a nice big room. We are trying a music group on Mon but suspect it'll be too much. Just want to do some normal stuff.

Hope things improve soon, sounds pretty busy right now.

If it's any consolation (probably not!), my ds was in a phase recently whereby he pooed in the bath just about every night for a fortnight - he seems to have moved on (excuse pun) now to another phase so hopefully, no more bathtime poo for awhile!!

He has always pooed in the bath! Since being a tiny baby. My other NT son has NEVER done this.
I think it's a relaxation thing - he has to lie down to have a poo - even if he tries to do it on the toilet (VERY rare!). I think the warm water helps (Sorry if TMI)
It's just a pain when he does it because he never tells you, and I have stopped sitting in the bathroom with him so was busy sorting out washing. (He makes so much noise in the bath, you don't need to worry about leaving him for a few minutes - guilty emoticon!)
Have spent a day with him today so feeling a bit better. Had his HIB booster yesterday and is feeling sorry for himself. LOTS of cuddles for mummy
