Amount of time kids are supposed to be on a school bus? Where can I find this info??

I am worried about the length of time my son spends on his school bus. The school is only around the corner and he is usually first pick up/last drop off. The bus used to come at 7.55am, then 7.50am then last few weeks of term at 7.45am!!! They have put 3 more kids on the bus and I am concerned what time they may give me for tomorrow - eekk!

Where can I find out the county's own policy on how long our children are supposed to be on the bus for - I need to be able to quote the county's own policy back to them and sort out a sensible time for pick up. Or shall I just put him to sleep in his school uniform to save time????

Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

I don't have any facts, but we were told no longer than 45 minutes on the transport.

We were told no longer than 1 hour so it must vary place to place.

We were also told one hour, I would contact your council to ask their policy on it.

I was told it was 2 hours for my college, when I was on transport (last 2 years). Might also vary by age of child/children?

dd leaves school at 3.30 and normaly gets home about 4- 4.30
once when she was very late I rang and was told that they had until 5 to drop her home!!

Thanks for all your advice, I will wait and see what time the bus turns up in the morning and even if the escort phones tonight to tell me the intended pick up time - here's hoping.....???

I think I will have to go on Hampshire County Council website and see if I can do some research on times allowed on the bus. It's just ridiculous when they load more kids on the existing buses as County obviously don't want to pay out for more buses - tight or what?

(hmm)
