I'm neurodivergent and so is my family, and Christmas Day has always been the hardest day of the year here: no routine, people everywhere, surprises all day.
This year I made a visual timetable for it: the day in eight boxes, 20 picture cards (presents, visitors, car journey, quiet time, dinner, bed), a first/then board and an "I need a break" card. We go through it the night before and again in the morning, and if plans change we move the cards.
I've put it online free, no sign-up, in case it helps anyone else: froglogic.co.uk/timetable
If you use visual timetables at home, is there a card you'd add? I'd rather make it right than make it pretty.
