Hi so my son is no verbal has autism and ADHD
Was in a Sen unit he is 7
Very Littie understanding
IV had so much trouble with his unit not understanding his needs
He doesn't no danger and he will climb alope and can run faster than any one I now
I'm a mom of 5 . 3 are over 21. 1 is 13 and my younist is 7
My child behaviour at school is mad like that tell me he hits head buts pulls hair
Thay also. Told me that he was playing with dolls inappropriate
And that thay spoke to the head pyic and was nothing to worry about
Last week my child was left unattended and if it wasn't for another mom he would of been out the school
He ment to have a 1t1 but staffing since we got bk after the holidays have been very slim and unfortunately my child has got thou the school climb gates and got in trouble. So much
Well bk to him trying to get out of school the mom stopped him witch I am very grateful for I sent a email to the school soon as I got him to sleep. I had a 2 line answer bk I didn't sleep all night
Went in to school and told the other senco I said to her that unless my child was looked after propley I would be pulling him out and that I would be going to the education board
Thought that would deal with the issues
In stead my son was left unattended again and got thou a locked door and hit one of the children (I'm not saying he dint do I'm just saying I don't have that behaviour at home and he is around other children ) he got suspended then thay reported me to Socal sevirse for him playing with the doill inappropriate and that said he rubbed his self up against another child (again IV not seen this behaviour )
I spoke to them about this and it was like that said there doing me favour for surpending and phoning social sevise because thay will help me get him moved to another school special school

That also said that this won't be the only time he is surpeend and that will help me in the long run
So I don't feel that way I feel like the ehcp means northing and that think I'm sum sort of child abusebecuse my oldest child is 29 never in all the year Iv had children in school AV I ever had social called on me
It really up set me I feel like because like the age gardening to keep my child safe has gone to pot and there trying to cover up there mess ups and thou me under the bus
Also I'm not saying my child is easy but we. Are happy I'm asingle partner only have my kids witch are all amazing by the way but all the teacher was on a bout was I need a brake. Wen it's the school stugging with him not me I'm not saying everyday good but so much better than it was few years bk
Sorry for the long post
As any one got any thoughts on this any advise for me

Do you want a different school?

Have you requested an early review of the EHCP?

Is the 1:1 detailed, specified and quantified in F of the EHCP?

What other support is in F of the EHCP and is it being provided?

Is it a formal suspension with the correct paperwork? If you wish to, you can make representations. Suspensions can be used as evidence to secure further support and a different placement.

Just because you haven’t witnessed a behaviour out of school doesn’t mean DS doesn’t display it within school. Referring to SS when such behaviour is displayed is normal. Use the referral to pursue further support.

You can ask the school to see the risk assessment.

I'm new here
Because my boy elope has mental age of about 2 to3 IV pulled him out I just don't trust them with him and thay have not tryed to sort the problem s.
Yes. On his ehcp he has funding for 1 T1 and is high risk he has no 1t1 he beening left unattended and the one glass room is ment to be locked to keep children in that room safe yet the child he got was in a different room
I have asked school for all reports and also IV also asked the education bord for help I have beening trying to move him for two years im going thou a tirbul witch also new to me thank you for your reply

im going thou a tirbul

Do you mean you are going through a Tribunal?

When you say you have pulled him out, do you mean you have deregistered and are going to electively home educate (EHE)? If so, I would think carefully about that. If you EHE, you relieve the LA of the duty to provide education and the provision in F, and if you are in Tribunal, the LA has even less incentive to concede than they already do.

Having funding for 1:1 isn’t quite the same as having 1:1 detailed, specified and quantified in F. You need to look at the wording in F. If it is detailed, specified and quantified but isn’t being provided, you need to speak to the school and the LA. The EHCP is a legal document. Not optional. It is the LA who is ultimately responsible for ensuring it is provided. If raising it with the LA doesn’t work, you can look at a pre-action letter then judicial review if necessary. However, if the wording is vague and woolly with wording such as ‘access to’, ‘would benefit from’, ‘would be helpful/useful’, opportunities for’, ‘or equivalent’, ‘up to’… it is not enforceable and you should look to improve the wording via the Tribunal.

IV just said I'm taking him out in till he gets another placement IV just don't have now choice my child would of got out the school and he would of just kept running I can't leave him there Wen that are short staffed
On my last ehcp witch has not being finalised the school was pushing for 2t1 for him if that helps

You need to look at the current finalised version of the EHCP. That is the one that is currently legally binding. It is no use looking at a version that isn’t finalised because that isn’t enforceable.

Personally, I would not electively home educate even if you don’t send DS to the current school.

TheDearBear · Yesterday 22:32

How to get round that because I didn't do this lightly also 3 big bite marks in 3 days and only one was I told about

OP posts:
roaringdragon · Yesterday 22:43

How do you get round what?

Do you have a preferred placement? Are you appealing B&F as well as I?

Have you thought about what evidence you have, what you can collate and what further evidence you need?

Do you have anyone to help you with the appeal?

TheDearBear · Yesterday 22:50

Yes I have a preference placement
Yes I have asked for all of his reports. Sorry what is b and f.

Section B and section F of the EHCP. The sections stating DS’s special educational needs (in section B) and the special educational provision (in section F).

Have you thought about whether you need independent assessments?

Have you checked if you are eligible for legal aid? Or rather it is the legal help system for appeals to SENDIST.

TheDearBear · Yesterday 23:02

Senist is dealing with it

OP posts:
roaringdragon · Yesterday 23:07

I know you have appealed to SENDIST.

You say you have appealed the placement. That is section I.

I am asking if you have appealed section b (special educational needs) and section F (special educational provision) as well.

Then, I was also asking if you have you thought about whether you need independent assessments?

And if you have checked if you are eligible for legal aid (legal help)?
