What to expect from a child ADHD assessment by video call

I’m really hoping someone can help me out here. My DS has an assessment for ADHD coming up and I’m really nervous about it, I have not had the best experiences in the past with Drs for either myself or DS. It’s a long story but I’ve been dismissed, talked down to etc. multiple times including an example which almost resulted in DS dying at 7 months old due to me not being listened to!

I’m hoping someone whose DC has recently undergone this assessment can tell me what to expect? What questions they ask? What are they looking for? Etc. it’s a video call assessment as opposed to face to face which is making me more nervous as I don’t think I come across well on calls! 😬

Any reassurance would be appreciated!

The process varies provider to provider. They are likely to ask for a history - pregnancy, developmental milestones, educational history, family history, any previous assessments/input from HCPs, etc. There will be questions for both you and DDs on daily life - difficulties, strengths, support, etc. Depending on what you have already completed, there may be questionnaires to complete. They will be observing DC. There may be task for DC.
