Disaster of a day

Day 1 (technically) of the summer holidays. Ive tried to do some nice things with the kids and all have ended in disaster. A trip to the seaside ended with a child completely soaked by paddling in the sea in normal clothes and not listening when I asked them to come out. My fault really as should have anticipated and bought swim shorts. A later attempted bowling trip ended up in no bowling - not their fault the bowling alleys f up and a complete meltdown from both. Been attacked this evening and he managed to bite me 5 times. Hes finally calm but I’m still reeling. Dont know what I’m hoping to gain from this thread, to know I’m not alone I suppose. Only another nearly 7 weeks to go.

I’m sorry today has been difficult.

I think attempting the seaside and bowling in one day is probably too much. I wouldn’t plan 2 trips like that in one day.

If you drive, would putting a spare set of clothes in the car help? Then even if DS paddles in normal clothes or any other of the myriad of reasons DC end up needing a change of clothes, you have a change.

If biting is a regular occurrence, you could have a look at bite sleeves or bite resistance clothing.
