What to expect from NHS physiotherapy for a child with DCD

Does anyone have any experience of nhs physiotherapy for their child with developmental coordination disorder? We have an upcoming appointment and im wondering what to expect?

Hi. My child was diagnosed but not offered NHS physio. I paid for some private physio but didnt find it helpful. They assessed her gross motor skills and gave some basic exercises.
Now awaiting some private OT as also wasn't offered any with the NHS.

The private OT sounds like she will be helpful! I don't really know what I want from it all other than to know I have given her every opportunity to meet her full potential.
I don't really know anyone else whose child has DCD and it's not easy to try to work out what will help.
Her OT report mentioned typing and extra help with PE but nothing else particularly helpful.

Lack of NHS support is quite shocking really, especially given its so impactful. Hopefully we will be starting with a private OT soon. I was considering a private physio too, but its all so expensive!

DCD is dyspraxia right? DS was NHS diagnosed with ASD and dyspraxia and wasn't offered anything by anyone. I don't know how old yours is but I'd really recommend piano lessons for coordination and swimming lessons for core strength and coordination. Much more interesting/useful than having to do repetitive exercises IMO if that's what OT/physio involve.
