Has anyone else heard about the new government proposals re SENDIST?

Just had an email from a support group that i belong to.

basically on july 11th the government are hoping to pass new laws in respect to SENDIST Appeals.

amongst the changes are:

No restrictions on the amount of witnesses allowed into hearings.

Abolishing the written documentation beforehand.

Powers to examine the child in question.

ive had a look on the IPSEA site and cant see anything, but this is quite worrying, it gives the LEA,s more power and presumably will put even more parents off going through an appeal process.

how very odd. hope it doesn't cut the number of appeals. I don't know the grounds for appealing to SENDIST, but the idea of limitless witnesses and examining the child seems to be reopening everything, almost like the LEA can start again from scratch at building their case.
