My SD was 30/04; for £428 paid into bank today (04/06) so looks like MRC & LRM for my son.

Had sent in additional evidence on Monday that they received on Tuesday but, given payment received today, it doesn’t appear they would have received it in time to influence their decision. Part of the additional evidence was a receipt letter from DWP home visiting team saying they had taken the claim form with them on 07/04/26 and me asking that that be used when considering backdating the claim award date.

I have been advised to call them and get statement of reasons for award level; ask if the DM received the additional evidence before making their decision; and, whether they would consider amending the award date to take into consideration the home visiting team taking my claim form meaning I had no control over when or how it was returned to them, without doing a full MR.

We are also considering doing a full MR anyway as we also supplied additional evidence (7 day diary of supervision/care given to him day and night) showing how much support he needs at night as well as during the day.

Anyone know what current MR times are running to? If we ask for MR, will they continue to pay at current rates until a decision is made?

What route have you gone down to try and get mobility component increased - SMI or VUW? Both have very specific criteria that have to be met and backed up by copious amounts of evidence

lucyuk80 · 24/06/2026 08:46

Smi route sent hospital reports ehcp ,ep reports consultants reports speech and language, autism report Sehm report didn’t get it so will have to do appeal when they rang i offered to send more they told me they had enough

Good luck; I read this article when I was researching DLA for my autistic son; it lists the tests that must all be met to evidence SMI

Huda87 · 06/08/2026 17:09

Hi everyone
Waiting for my daughter’s new claim
to to be processed. I phoned for the forms on 26th MAy and have scan date of 15th June. As of last Friday her claim was still in a queue.

Also waiting for my son’s renewal. His award ends 13th November and his renewal was scanned 23rd July.

Good luck to you all and how our kids get the awards they deserve!

Fatandknowit · 15/08/2026 14:42

DLA MR scanned 20th April for HRM under SMI route for son, decision 10th August agreeing. Now HRC, HRM. 5 year award. Such a win!!

I didn't ask for a statement of reasons. Nor did I see any flow charts beforehand. I simply I wrote a letter and included the same things I'd sent with original renewal but circled the bits I wanted them to actually read with notes such as "demonstrates substantially greater needs/risk than those of a child the same ages without disabilities" throughout.

It is funny because the in the decision letter it lists the information they used to make the decision. Its the exact same information listed in the original award.

Good luck all

Zoflorabore · 23/08/2026 10:49

Hi all, new to this!!

what is the scan date and how do we find out what ours is pls?

sent form off last week ( number 13 ) which is ridiculous. I’ve been doing this for 2 years and couldn’t face it, finally filled it in and it’s gone.

issue is that dd is 15 and nearing PIP age ( she will be 16 in February) but I’m hoping that doesn’t influence the outcome.

really need somewhere for support and advice from others in the same boat.

I know what you mean. I sent extra evidence today and I feel like as time goes on I could keep sending it but not sure if it would make a difference, I’ve heard the decision maker spends between 30-60 mins on each form! Such a short time when we are waiting months

Kirsty944 · 24/08/2026 11:52

I heard that too about the 30-60 on a form but for us it’s such a long wait when I phoned them they said they was really busy again with new claims what area are you from if you don’t mind me asking

Warwickshire in midlands what about you?

Hey!
I heard back about my daughter’s new claim she was awarded HRC for 5 years.
Still waiting for my son’s November renewal. I rang on Thursday as I received his sleep clinic appointment and wanted to send as evidence. Was told it’s allocated to a case worker. I think it will
be in a queue as there’s a while until his
claim ends. I sent it guaranteed nexT day delivery so
hopefully it will be received and scanned this week.

I’m Wolverhampton

Huda87 · 25/08/2026 18:36

It was about 8 weeks from
scan date plus 2 weeks from when firms were requested so a total of 10 weeks backpay.
