Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Any early intervention strategies/books for use with 3.5 yo with probable ASD?

Ok, I'm taking a deep breath and getting over my initial denial! Ds1 is 3.5 and on waiting list to see paediatrician but I think it is safe to say that he has many of the behaviours that would point to a dx of ASD. (Phew that wasn't so bad!)

Can anyone give me any advice or recommend a book regarding managing his behaviour and understanding him? I've had a look at a few and the strategies seem to be aimed at older children with better levels of understanding and communication.
Thanks.

Yep, I was in similar situation to you when my DD1 was the same age and Hanen was the book given to me by the speech therapist. They also ran free Hanen courses for parents.
