What should I do - DD 11 says she wants to die

My 11 yr old DD is awaiting an autism/ADHD assessment (since May 2025) a lot of anxiety is wrapped up with this and GP recently referred us to CAMHS for the severe anxiety (mostly over school - still at primary school until September)
I have a lot of issues getting her into school even though it’s primary school, she sees the SENCO and pastoral care there and is allowed things like fidgets and soft toys in class atm.
Today she’s started saying she wants to die and has been thinking about it for months and is serious about it, hates her life etc! Won’t talk to me any more about it though - help what do I do now?

I would speak to the GP again. Chase CAMHS yourself. If you get to a point where you feel you can’t keep DD safe take her to A&E. If you have access to a crisis line, some find that helpful, although it is a lottery as others find the unhelpful.

Other than seeing the SENCO and pastoral care and being allowed fidgets and soft toys, what support is the school providing? Does DD have an EHCP? Have you spoken to the secondary school’s SENCO? Is DD receiving enhanced transition support?

Take her out of school and do home ed. If at all possible.
