How quickly did you see a change with fish oils?

After 3-4 weeks of really good behaviour at nursery, ds (suspected ASD) has had three or four bad days (hitting, hyper etc) and we are trying to figure out why. It's so hard isn't it? But I stopped being so regular with the Eye-Q tablets this week and yesterday and today was careful to give him them. His behaviour has been perfect today. Do you think there could be that big an impact with fish oils?
He had been taking them for about 6 weeks before that.

We never saw a huge improvement, but felt it was worth a go.

My ds started drinking the milk that contains Omega 3 about 2yrs ago and despite consuming at least, or above, the minimum quantity for it to have any effect, we have seen no change in him at all.

I think it really must depend on the child. My friend swears that her son (ASD and aged about 4 at the time) started talking after she began the fish oil supplement, but it seems to have had no effect at all on my son (GDD, no dx) although I do still give it to him.
