Retained primitive reflexes

Hello has anyone looked into retained primitive reflexes and treated these? Any recommendations in London for therapists who work on these reflexes?

I watched a programme about it on Prime, if you search for adhd it comes up, it looked very interesting and I had an initial phone call with someone about it, the man on the programme had about a 2 year waiting list! I have also seen there are books you can buy about them. In the end I have decided not to visit as it was very far away for us, although they did offer to do it via videocall, however I have researched myself and considered buying the books. Having done some of the “tests” I am not sure my child does have them anyway but it is something I haven’t completely dismissed. Sorry not much help!

My son has retained Moro reflex (severe) and retained asymmetric tonic neck reflex (that is fairly mild and almost gone). We’ve been given exercises to do but we’re not getting on well with them. DS is autistic with a demand avoidant profile. Has massive anxiety spikes and simply won’t engage with them - which is hugely frustrating because I am sure if we could work on the Moro reflex his anxiety would come down. We’re in a catch-22

There’s a book series called ‘Integrating Primitive Reflxes Through Play and Exercise’ which are quite useful - assuming your kid is willing to do them - which my kid is not.

Hi, just wondering if you ever pursued this therapy in the end? We're about to start with a clinic in Oxford. . My son is non speaking and autistic and we're hoping this might help with some of his difficulties.
Would be really interested if anyone has seen any changes after having this kind of therapy.

We took our daughter to see a wonderful lady in Oxfordshire - Jo Rodhouse. It was literally life changing https://www.jo-rodhouse.co.uk/ I've recommended her to friends and family, and they've all had the same experience. I can't recommend it enough. I think there is a lot of people out there doing reflexes but after my research, she's really experienced and her google reviews are great!

Yes. That's who we are going to see!!
We've met online so far but are going for a face to face meeting next month.

My daughter was crippled with anxiety, to the point she couldn’t go to school. Sleep was awful and her learning was so stressful. It all changed and I’ve been recommending her to everyone ever since. I know those who have been to see her have also had the same support. It’s amazing stuff and she’s very experienced.

That's fantastic, really pleased for you and your daughter!
I'm really hopeful, (cautiously so because obviously my son has quite a lot of challenges) but excited to try and early impressions of Jo have been really positive. It's the hope that kills you though!!

Well it sounds as though our needs were very different to yours but if read her reviews, she’s helped so many people with so many different things. My best advice would be trust the process! Good luck and really hope it helps ❤️

I’m very interested in this and had a look at jo roadhouse’s website but it doesn’t mention costs, I think all 3 of my DC would benefit from this but can anyone give a rough idea of her prices?

We paid £156 and saw her every 6 weeks. When we first started with her, we were seeing an OT and an Ed Psych & having CBT that ran in to thousands ££££ and only seemed to make things
worse . so the programme we did with Jo was not only significantly cheaper but was so effective and things changed very quickly for us. Hope that helps???
