Independent SALT report for tribunal

Hello, we are appealing sections B, F, and I. We have a very strong evidence bundle except for SALT as the LA commissioned SALT discharged him without advice. The EP and diagnostic report (both more recent!) contradicted the SALT report completely and we also have extensive OT advice from 2 different OTs, and we also have a strong Autism Specialist Teacher report. He is 3 years old with a diagnosis of autism.

Does anyone 1) have recommendations for a private SALT in North West England who can do an assessment and report for tribunal? and 2) have an idea of how much this will cost?

If anyone has commissioned a private SALT for this reason, was it worth it? Did you win at tribunal? The SALT discharge is the LAs strongest evidence so I need to counteract it unequivocally

You could try Spectrum North West - Jess Powell is excellent but they have a few other SALTs too. Or AT therapy in Manchester - I have seen a few good reports from Emma Bowers but it depends on what you need. Lots look further south if that would be an option for you.

Yes, we have used independent SALT reports for Tribunals and as part of EHCP provision. Yes, it was/is worth it.

Prices vary depending on who you use and what you need/want. It can be a few hundred to over £1k.

Yes, we had an independent SALT at three tribunals over DD1 - because a major SEN for her was a severe receptive and profound expressive language disorder. The first two tribunals were for specialist speech and language provision with speech therapy specified.

We won all three tribunals and the LA conceded early at a fourth. We always got everything we wanted with regard to her language disorder, for needs, speech therapy and placement.

Yes, it was worth every penny.
