Hi, well after going 2 weeks of Jack being kinda stabilised with seizures this week Jack has bn up and down with them, he had one fri, sat, sun then mon was ok tues was a seizure, wed, thur ok, and today I took him to emergency doctors appointment as he has sore throat n a temp, has had all week, so wondering if this is why he is takin seizures more, or if he is just going bk to the way they were before....really hope not, dr thinks it is a virus, has a bit of a rash on his neck too, but had mmr last week and I know that can happen, bn given an antibiotic for him , hope it works. My dd, nearly 7 has bit of a temp too and a wee cough but was well enough t go t school, so hoping this will pass quickly and hoping and praying that this is reason Jack has bn taking more seizures...so down about this

Sorry...meant to say that Jack had taken a seizure lasting 20-25 mins in surgery with dr, the dr had never seen a child having seizure, and wasn't really much help, but as she went to waiting room to get Jack's buggy for me then the other dr came in, he was much more helpful and asked if Jack needed oxygen etc, but he was coming out it by then, but think the dr I seen (not my normal dr, he is off sick) should have got another dr sooner, she was in shock 2 I think, so fed up

Hey, no was on my own , he looked like he was coming out of the seizure several times so didn' t use diazepam, don't have an epilepsy team... yeah giving him calpol n ibuprofen, not given him ibuprofen because he has just bn fed and might sik it up, bn gagging last few days and sick a number of times, see he hasn't bn sucking bottle or cup for 2 mnths and so bn squeezing teat into his mouth, still getting the right amount of fluids into him doing this but he gags and brings it up a lot, told several people, consultant, health visitor doctor etc, but they r happy as long as I am getting it into him. He is putting on weight, but soo stressful on top of everything else but the SALT is coming out on 19th for the first time so seemingly she will know loads about it, but he is eating and still sucks his dummy. Jus remembered that Jack sik'd up his meds this morning, could be very valid reason he had a seizure

so sorry to hear that cjm, sounds like that first doc could do with some epilepsy training. Earlier on in the year ds2's seizures got worse when he had an infection so I hope it's just that and that your Jack's seizures will ease off again soon.

2 months sounds like a long time for him to have not been sucking and for you to have to squeeze the bottle in his mouth - hope the SALT is useful when she comes.

Thanks mummypig, I know, I JUST feel competely at my wits end, tmi sorry , but he had REALLY messy nappy earlier too an is gagging a lot so thinkin maybe sickness n diarrhea bug, my mum, dad, sister and nephew have just had it

Yes why is she a doctor if she doesn't know how to cope with epilepsy? Also even if she doesn't know, she should not convey panic to the patient's mother - seems very unprofessional.

Thanks guys....so much, Jack not had seizure since fri at doctors, but now has a rash coverin his body, prob reason he had high temp, but called nhs, they think a reaction to his mmr 10 days ago....lets hope so, he seems well in himself though they said if he startd to feel unwell then to get in touch with them again, and his temp is ok too xxxx

Glad he's feeling better and hope the spots are nothing serious! DD had a harmless rash a few months ago when she had some cold-like symptoms, it looked a bit like German measles and didn't seem to bother her.
