As far as I can remember there were a few of us free on the 22nd of June, but I am not sure if it is still going ahead. I was going to ask you all closer to the date if it is till happening because I am travelling to Bristol for just a few days and if we don't meet up then maybe I'll go shopping

Flamesparrow · 07/06/2008 17:17

I think I am still free

staryeyed · 07/06/2008 19:01

oooh! I didn't see this!!!!! I could come !(i confess to being MrsF if you didn't know!)

MUM23ASD · 07/06/2008 22:48

i meant to say...'Could I come???"

staryeyed · 07/06/2008 23:47

oh lovely another taker. Lets see if we can get a group together -there are only 4 so far.

I didn't know you were Mrs F not that you have any idea who I am. Um that sounds very stalkerish -I read a lot of you threads while I was searching the archives for ASD info.

Hi Staryeyed!!!

I'm a secret stalker too!!!!
(did we ever 'chat' when i was MrsF???)

I'd be looking at the bristol meetup.

staryeyed · 08/06/2008 08:32

No we didn't chat but you know when you just read through old threads and you feel like you get to know people a bit. I thought a lot of the people that were around when I first joined had disappeared now I see everyone has just name changed. I dont pick up very quickly on name changes unless they are obvious. It took me ages to realise that yurt/gess was also jimjams.

MRSF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was only wondering where you were the other day You were one of the first SN mums to make me feel welcome (not that everyone didn't but you stood out )

MUM23ASD · 08/06/2008 15:38

I really don't get on here as much as i'd like to and miss it so much when i'm elsewhere!

Everytime something happens...good,bad,funny or sad I find myself thinking of mumsnet as for me there was a time when i depended so much on just being able to post on here. One particular day was a wet monday morning when i walked back from the school crying. I came straight in and went on MN and posted how i felt- i've never forgotten that day.

I guess i've been on here 5 or 6 years now!!!!

TotalChaos · 08/06/2008 19:14

yes, still interested

sphil · 08/06/2008 19:36

I'm really sorry but don't think I can make it now. DH is going to The Gambia for a week the next day and think for DS2's sake we need to have a routine stay-at home weekend.

And yes, this Gambia trip has been slightly sprung upon me...

TotalChaos · 08/06/2008 19:54

oh dear Sphil, bet you aren't pleased. DH tried to suggest he might be busy climbing Scafell Pike that weekend - so I intimated that he could jolly well climb it the next weekend.

sphil · 08/06/2008 21:04

Well he did say 'Can I go?' and I HATE that so I said yes

TinySocks · 09/06/2008 06:10

oh you softy. What a shame! And I was going to ask you about mainstream schooling and IEPs, nevermind, enjoy a cozy weekend with the DSs.

sphil · 09/06/2008 09:37

Oh I'm sorry Tinysocks. I can talk for England on that . CAT me any time, you know that.

(DS2 has just gone off for his first ever full day at school - a farm trip. Am feeling a bit nervous...)

TinySocks · 09/06/2008 12:20

aww, thank you so much for the offer sphil. To be honest DS isn't close to being toilet independant yet , so no school for him just yet.
But when the time comes I will take on (or is take up?) your really kind offer (sorry english is not my first language and sometime I doubt my grammar, not a very good excuse). I don't even know how an IEP looks like or what it should contain.

Good luck with the farm trip!!!

silverfrog · 09/06/2008 13:03

Sorry, i won't be able to make it either. We've just had 2 weekends of manic family meet-ups, and next weekend I'm away all weekend as well, so after that dd1 is due a quiet weekend at home...

Hope you all have a good time

staryeyed · 09/06/2008 13:42

Shall we delay then for a date when everyone can make it?

OP posts:
TinySocks · 09/06/2008 15:24

Yes I think it is a good idea to delay it so that most of you can make it.
It would have been nice to meet you all, but hopefully some other time.

sphil · 10/06/2008 10:03

Tinysocks - DS2 is still in nappies too. No progress as yet on toilet training, though they are trying at at school. The school are fine with it, though I know this isn't always the case in m/s schools.

TinySocks · 10/06/2008 11:22

Oh really? That makes me feel better sphil.
The school he needs to go to won't take him unless he is toilet independant. I really wish they were a little more flexible about it, but according to them, the law doesn't allow them to (I don't live in the UK)

drowninginlaundry · 10/06/2008 12:54

I'd love to come but on another date, we're on hols that weekend.
