Carers allowence how long is it taking presently

Just applied for carers allowence, does anyone know how long it is taking?

In part, it depends on how straightforward your claim is. Earlier this week, someone I have supported had backpay from their claim made 7 weeks ago. Yet someone else I am supporting is still waiting at 21 weeks because their claim is more complex.

You could apply again. Or of you think you should be eligible, you could request a MR then appeal if necessary.

More complex cases can include things such as some self employed earnings, irregular earnings, cases with a lot of allowable expenses.

i I ticked for irregular pay as it depends how many hours I work - between 8-11 hours and I’ve not been earning for 3 months but had holiday pay owing so that was put in my pay
