Hi any ideas what I can do with my ASD girls 5 and 8 one of them is quite anxious and does not like crowds the other one is a runner and in to everthing, both terrible at queueing
. Little one tends to throw everthing he finds at the moment 😭 I don’t drive ( I’m learning ) I live in the Medway area . Just find it hard taking them park as youngest no danger awareness will run in front of the swings ect and the older one will scream and have a meltdown if someone is on the swing and he wants ago ect which can be quite hard and stressful with both of them on my own, I have no family around and no friends. I don’t want them staying home all day on there nintendos, I want to do things with them but everywhere is so busy in the holidays.

We are the same this summer holidays I have one that will want to be on the go all day ( adhd ) and one that is so hard to take outdoors by myself it’s far to dangerous ( Autism ). The first week I think they need to recover from this term. Then I am going to attempt to go to the sen session at the trampoline park ( it’s abit less stressful ) once a week and I’ve just brought loads of activities for them to do at home and in the garden and a inflatable hot tub because it seems the safety option with the secure lid and sensory part of the bubbles will be good for them over buying a swimming pool. Probably not very helpful but it’s just not easy summer holidays taking children out with additional needs.

Do you have some woods nearby? They are often quieter.

Also look for SEN groups/sessions (although they don’t work for all DC with SEN it is worth looking what is available). Might be worth looking at your local offer and contacting your local parent carers forum.

For your runner, do you have reins &/or an SN buggy?
