Dd has extremely sore lips that refuse to heal. She also has a large crack in the middle of her tongue and red patches of sore skin oh her face that flare up. Could this be indicative of some kind of intolerance/allergy? She is 8 and has AS.

Bumping this for you as I don't know the answer! Maybe the GP can advise?

Your poor dd it sounds very uncomfortable!

My son used to get sore mouth and rough red face (he dribbled constantly) and was always thirsty before he had a daily fishoil suppliment - but your dd could be quite different especially if it is a new problem - so would ask the gp.

It could be a gluten intolerance, but I would definatley go to GP and get it checked. before I was diagnosed, I used to have really sore lips in the corners. They felt like coldsores, but they never healed up. My tongue was also sore. A condition linked with gluten intolerance (coeliac disease) is dermatitis hepaformitis (think I have spelled that right). This could maybe be the sore patches? - don't know as I have no experience of this. If you look on the Coeliac Uk website, you may find some answers there.
