this is our 4th one.

the past 3 times they have pulled out the day before, so they may do this today or they may not.

does anyone know, im just rereading the lea,s evidence and they say they first became aware of dd,s SN when we asked for a stat asess last october.

but the ed psych and specialist asd teacher has been involved since march 2007, does that mean that the LEA would have known and that this means they are saying false info about when their involvement started?

would have thought if ed psych and asd teacher were involved LEA should have been aware then. I mean who is emplying the asd teacher after all? in Liverpool there is a "neighbourhood early years service" which is the umbrella organisation dealing with pre-schoolers with SN - if you have an equivalent in your town, I would have thought you could argue they were aware from as soon as your DD was on their books so to speak.

ancientmiddleagedmum · 19/05/2008 12:16

Good luck Jenk - and I think they are splitting hairs to say they only knew last Oct. If their very own Ed Psych was involved back in March 2007, then either they are not being entirely truthful about how soon they were aware, or their own system is in disarray as their own staff are not informing them about upcoming issues (either way, if you say that at tribunal, they look stupid!). Hope they back down and you don't have to go through it - if you do, I am vibing you all my ancientmiddleaged stroppy vibes. My best advice is that your words are strong but your manner is friendly and a bit sad (rather than totally angry) - you want the tribunal to take your side and we brits always like the underdog!

Fingers crossed here too jenk1. Go get 'em girl!

jenk1 · 19/05/2008 16:29

im going to pieces, the lea have responded to my complaint about putting dd into full time education saying that most parents view it as a "positive" attribute and that it doesnt mean dd was getting any extra help.

i know theyve done it to stress me out and theyve suceeded, im bricking it over tomorrow.

don't be demoralised, if that pile of crap is the best explanation that they can come up with, with tribunal tomorrow, it shows they are running very short on compelling arguments.

jenk1 · 19/05/2008 17:40

yes it is a pile of crap isnt it?

she actually says in her letter that the SEN Asessment Manager went into nursery and looked through dd,s files to see if there was any up to date info to send to the sendist tribunal.

oh my goodness, rummaging through files the week before the hearing?

they must be desperate.

am feeling quite calm this morning.

just waiting for 2pm now to get in there and have my say, at least i will be listened to unlike the countless LEA/Nursry meetings who dont let me have my say and talk me down.

am actually quite looking forward to it now!
