Just had a call from the sen asessment manager.

saying she wants to send late evidence to sendist and its a record of acheivement of dd and there are photos in it, so i said feel free cos we will be taking a photo of her on the day anyway.

then she said, would you not like to see the photos and i said yes ok, can you email them to me, she said she cant send emails to me cos theres something wrong with hotmail (there isnt its working fine and every other time theyve managed to email me fine), so she said wot if i come round to your house and drop them off, so i said well ask nursery when we pick her up to give us a copy this afternoon, so she started stuttering and said well yes i will but i will try and send them to you through email today cos i want to get them off, so i said ok.

now that doesnt give us time to give our comments on the late evidence that she,s sending.

she also "offered" to talk through the tribunal hearing on the day with me so i said no thats fine thanks very much but this is our 4th one so we are used to it now.

she said oh is it and i said yes we went through 3 with ds he,s in XXXXX school, yes i know she said.

so she,s going to "try" and send me the pictures through email, and i asked her can she let me know when the ed psych is going in this week as dd wont be in tomorrow as she has a doctors appointment, she said she didnt know but would find out.

What are they up to?

also, she said there are photos of her playing with other children, now doesnt she have to get the other parents permission to send photos of their children to sendist?

Photos can't show everything. They can't show language differences, both expressive and receptive. They can't show the levels of interaction.

She may be right about hotmail - not that it isn't working, but some spam filters don't allow hotmail through and our health authority intermittently upgrades their spam filters and suddenly I can't mail them or vice versa.

However, given the context it sounds more likely she thinks these photos are strong ammo for them and she needs proof that you have received a copy in order to be allowed to submit them to tribunal. She needs it done today, otherwise she'd send them registered post. So she'd like to drop them off herself then she can "witness" their arrival.

(disclaimer: the above suggestion is the product of my cynicism, rather than any relevant experience)

got the photos.

at the bottom are a number of IEP,s, not dated, we,ve never seen them or signed anything and looks like they have just been made up quickly as late evidence to counteract our late ed psychs evidence.

unsure of what to do about that.

I think parents/guardians need to fill in a consent form for photos of children under 16 - if photos are to be used. -DPA 1998. The law has been clarified a little in that personal use photos ( snaps at nativity plays) are fine but official use photos still need consent.

2 of the pictures of dd we object to.

one is a piture of her sitting in front of a tower block, she is obviously filling her nappy and you can see it in her face, i find that quite upsetting, to us it looks like she has just been plonked down in front of the tower block.

the other is of her on a climbing frame, they are trying to say that despite her having hemiplegia she can climb run etc, which she can, BUT she is right at the top of the climbing frame and there are no adults around near her i find that quite frightening.

well more tricks today.

an email sent to me with a letter on letter head saying to confirm that they have sent late evidence to the sendist tribunal.

but they havent sent me a copy of the letter they sent to sendist stating why they are including this late evidence.

sendist told me when i sent my late evidence to send the lea a copy of my letter saying why i was sending it in late and reasons which i did.

then this afternoon i receive an email from the SEN asessment manager that was meant for her colleague discussing our daughter saying when did you send the papers.

im sure it wasnt a mistake and they are trying to psych us out to get us to drop the hearing.

which we wont of course.

also the ed pscy has NOT made an appointment to see dd like she asked permission for last week and lea have told me they dont know when she,s going to go in and see her, well the hearing is next tuesday so she,d better get a move on.

dont know why they just dont give up, their "evidence" of unsigned and undated IEP,s isnt going to do down too well with the panel next week.

Sounds well dodgy to me......
Have you given yuor permission for them to take photos of her for a start?

RustyBear · 13/05/2008 21:32

Actually Hotmail recently blocked all mail from all schools on the SouthEast Grid for Learning (over 3,000 schools) because someone from one school had sent out spam - they may have done it again in your area

the nursery have permission to take pictures of her for things like her record of acheivement and the ICAN people have permission for their training stuff, but to send to the lea without us seeing first, i dont think they do.

its just more evidence of how underhanded they,ve been with us.

i cant believe they are going to turn up to the tribunal with this evidence, they dont have a case, they havent done anything with her for nearly a year and the week before the hearing suddenly a record of acheivement pops up that we havent seen as well as an iep not to mention a reading test.

going to put on a different thread for you moondog cos have a question about a test theyve done.
