my Little girl is 6 months old and has started to have some episodes. It started with an absence seizure and then some more jerky movements, and lip smacking. She’s also been doing long blinks. We had an EEG last week which came back ok. They will do another sleep deprived one. I need to wait till Tuesday for the seizure clinic for any more information or next steps. I’m absolutely terrified what this will mean for her. Please could anyone who may have been in a similar position share any positive stories or advice? Thanks so much.

Dd started having seizures at 11months. They came in clusters and were very hard to control so we had a fairly scary time. We eventually found a good AED and she was stable for a couple of years and then started again and it repeated for most of early primary. She is now finishing school, has been seizure free since about 6.5 and is off to uni next year (assuming she IS studying not lying on her bed teening out). You must be terrified. I’m so sorry this is happening to you all but you have caught it and there are some brilliant drugs and monitors now. It’s harder but it’s ok.

Uncertainty is really hard. I hope the appointment brings you more answers. It can help to record any episodes. That feels unnatural but will help at the appointment.
