My dd, 5.5, who has autism and is pre verbal has always pooped in nappies. Even when trying to potty train, she just wouldn't go in the potty.

She's now successfully pulled me upstairs to the loo and pooped in the toilet!!!

I gave up on the potty and started with the toilet for wee wees last month.

She's still weeing on the carpet 😢 and did so after she pooped 😄😄 so ive made a note of that but still very proud of her 🥰🥰

Please do share the little achievements your sen child has made and bask in the joy with me for it is a tough old road

❤️

That's great 😊 take joy in every single good thing. For me recently, it was my 3 year old pointing out things in book eg where is the cat, dog etc. She is also pre verbal and never pointed things out before ever.

That's lovely! I bet you felt amazing in that moment and like your hard work starting to pay off 😊

Well done to her x

Thank you x
Yes, delighted. Wasn't sure if she'd ever do this!

🥰

Since turning 5, mine has had an explosion of language - almost all of it is singing, she knows lots of nursery rhymes

Much of the speaking is babbling or repeating phrases from peppa pig 😄 but its happening

Our kids just like to take their sweet time - its their world and we're just living in it 🤭 x

I'm so happy to read that! I'm sure she has a beautiful voice ❤️
Oh it is definitely their world, and they'll do it when they feel like it😂
Mine loves Peppa and nursery rhymes too! One of the only times I can get her to sit still is putting on nursery rhymes. Even better, I've found Peppa pig songs on YouTube! She loves it. She'll sit and cuddle with me while it's on.
Then it's right back up again to bounce balls when it's over (she's very very focused on bouncing balls all the time!).
Well done to you, it's a hard but rewarding road xx

God I love these threads. ❤️

I remember last summer, aged 10, DS finally learnt how to ride a bike and I cried Grin

Im sorry I didnt see your response!

😄 bless her, it's great that she has that coordination! Mines is swimming! Specifically jumping into water, which she pretends she's doing when she jumps off the sofa 😄

Thank you 🥰 I love to hear her voice, I'm always grateful

Mine likes to sit with me as well when she's watching peppa - she's literally doing it now

She had me up from 11pm to 5am overnight so she's got sweets and peppa pig to keep her awake until about 8 - fingers crossed we manage it

Yeah it is, we're working hard but it'll be worth it ❤️

Aww that must've felt amazing!! Did he feel proud of himself as well?

It isn't always easy but when they hit these little milestones, it feels so amazing 😄🥰

No worries 😊

Awh I love that, it's so important that we get a few cuddles from time to time, reminds us it's all worth it 🥰 so I love that we both have something that they will sit quiet for a few mins with us for!

Mine loves the water but I can't handle it with her - my husband takes her as she splashes so much she ends up swallowing loads and I get so scared! No good for either of us 🙈

Oh no sorry she had you up all night. Hopefully you got good sleep since xx
