Can my husband claim carers for our child?

My husband is in receipt of PIP, and my child is on DLA. I claim carers for my husband, can he claim for our child? Will it be deducted though from universal credit? So is it pointless claiming?

Claim the carers element of uc I’m assuming your getting the disability elements on uc as well for your child ?
yes if you claim carers allowance they will deduct it off your uc

Someone in receipt of PIP can claim carer’s allowance if they meet the eligibility criteria, e.g. he cares for 35+ hours, doesn't exceed the earning requirements.

Carer’s allowance is deducted £ for £ from UC. However, CA gives a better class of NI credits, so it is still wise to claim it if eligible.

Does DH get the LCWRA element of UC? If so, he can’t also receive the carer element of UC.

For some, quite easily. The needs of disabled people are varied. Just because someone can’t do some things doesn’t mean they can’t do other things.
