Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had any advise on good private schools that welcome mild ADHD. Academically very able and he is in year 2 currently. I am struggling with the current school in terms of prompting and supporting when dysregulated.

Have seen LVS have got a good rep, Kingswood and potentially Ewell however quite old posts on here. Any advise is welcome. I feel a calm school and he likes routine with not too much heightened energy sessions if that makes sense. Loud and excitable always ends in dysregulation for him in school.
Thanks in advance

As well as Kingswood and Ewell, you could look at Banstead Prep. Depending on where you are Hurst Lodge may be possible. When DS is older, there’s also St James.

Unfortunately I went to hurst lodge and have known how many times it’s changes names as well as treat a friends child absolutely disgusting with his special needs. Will look at banstead thank you

I’m sorry your friend’s DC didn’t have a good experience. I mentioned it because they have lots of DC with SEN, including with EHCPs, and many DC with SEN have a positive experience there, but you’re right, not all do.

Yes I think you can probably find good and bad with all unfortunately x

@dani19832017 did you make any progress on this? I seem to be in a similar situation with y2 child.

@dani19832017 is he at a prep now? How is his dysregulation showing up? My DC is struggling more and more but I worry about moving him multiple times 😭

He is only year 2 and also don’t think I would move him and then again. Would only consider moving for one all the way through really x
