Toys for 3 year old (GDD/ASD)

If you have or have had a preschooler with developmental delay and probable ASD, what are their favourite things to play with?

I am at a loss for DS, almost 3. Most things he just puts in his mouth and then throws. I've tried magnetic tiles, duplo, cars etc but everything just gets thrown or smashed and not actually played with.

The only thing he's interested in is light and sound so everything is just push button stuff that plays music and lights up. What else might he like that I'm missing?

He's got bead mazes and sensory soft things he quite likes but I want to get him a new toy box and some new things as he's getting bored and we will be inside a bit more now.

He won't actually sit down and do anything ie painting, drawing etc.

I was thinking maybe dressing up things but don't know if he'd understand that.

Any idea welcome, thanks.

Ikea physical play toys might work. There's a velcro dartboard, soft balls, a small goal that doubles as storage...

Thank you I'd never thought of ikea for toys. I think he might like the tunnel. I'll have a look at their other stuff too.

What about something like this.

What about a bubble tube, fibre optic sensory lights or stepping stones that make a noise when DC stand on them. They aren’t things that will fit in a toy box, but if you have the space, you could look at a mini indoor trampoline &/or a bilibo.

Thanks that's great. Have ordered a fibre optic lamp and some stepping stones. Also the tunnel and a dinosaur costume 😊
