Carers allowance and child tax credit

Hello, I found out my son was awarded DLA and I've just moved to Universal credit, So I had to ask Child Tax Credit to backdate. When asking his award she said are you claiming carers Allowance for him. Which I replied I was already receiving carers allowance for my older son in 2022. Which I told them aboutin 2022. Did i have to tell them each tax year? Because I had an Annual review that was automatically renewed. Does that mean I owe Child Tax Credit money?

You should have made sure it was include in your renewal each year. Do you have the paperwork from each year to check?

It was an auto renewal so automatically thought it was on there, none of mine ever said it. But I know I told the lady in 2022

I claimed income support and they new 2022 cause took to carers amount off me

Unfortunately, it is up to you to make sure the paperwork is correct.

Just have to wait for a letter to see what I owe
