A question to all parents of wheelchair users

How do you get out and about when its snowy?

A friend has asked me to post this. Her ds (8) has just started using a wheelchair due to juvenile arthritis. He can walk a little bit but not far at all at the moment. Her dh has just been offered a years contract in Canada and she's worried about how they'll cope in winter.

I guess it's less of an issue in the UK but if anybody has any experience we'd be glad to hear it.

I don't know the exact answer to your question but i lived in canada for 3 years and they are much much much better at clearing the snow each day so footpaths and roads etc are cleared really quicley

in Ontario anyway

Thanks, will pass your comments on. Her dh is talking about fitting skis to the chair (he's an engineer) and I think that has made her panic slightly.
