So we are awaiting mediation appointment in the vauge hope they will agree to assess DS for his EHCP without having to go to court.
This week his Senco from his school (from September) visited him at nursery. The day after a staff member from LA (but nothing to do with EHCP) also visited. I haven't seen their reports, despite requesting them but nursery have. Both agree DS will not cope in mainstream school.
I should be thrilled, it's two more professionals who are saying get him an EHCP, he needs help but it's actually made me more stressed. I don't know if school are now saying they won't take him (can they withdraw his place?) because his needs are too high.
What am I supposed to do then. He'll be too old for the groups we go to and nursery seem unwilling to keep him after September. He's non verbal and doesn't communicate in any way but I fear keeping him home until his EHCP comes through will make him more isolated.
I can't work out if school are saying he can't attend or not. Been trying to get an answer from them since Tuesday but no-one is returning my calls or emails.
I haven't slept properly in months, feels like every time I move forward I get smacked back again.
Can I have some advice please, especially if you have any idea on if school can refuse to take him now. If so any ideas on how to stop him being isolated. Sorry I'm totally clueless.
