My daughter has to go to learning centre

Hi all, new poster here 🙌

My daughter will be 5 this year, she has global developmental delays and has to be referred for an autism assessment. We had applied for a deferral in her preschool year as we were told this would help her development and she may be able to join a mainstream p1 class next year (she would be 6) we were told yesterday that this has been rejected and she will be attending the learning centre area of the school. I am more open to this idea but her dad was in the learning centre when he was at school (he is dyslexic) and has bad memories of it and doesn't want her to go. He is taking his anger out on me about this and there's nothing more I can do to try keep her in her preschool year another year.

Sorry for the rambling post, just needed to get it off my chest and possibly have a chat with others in a similar situation 😀

Can you and DH visit the centre and speak to the staff? It is probably very different to when he was there.
