Family Fund Haven Holiday Grant

Hi everyone,

I applied for Haven holiday Grant from family fund last week as we just can't afford a little holiday this year.

It's unlikely the grant request will be refused due to my sons disabilities and care needs but I was wondering whether anyone has one recently with regards to holiday vouchers.

I'm wondering whether I will need to start setting money aside to afford the holiday or will the grant cover the whole thing?

Hey hun ! I applied too , I put the first option that I would like a family break, they will give you a £500 voucher , you will have to only use the Haven website and book a holiday. It will definitely cost more than that so I would say put money aside . We got inspire . We will be going in July so happy as its DS first holiday since he has started to understand.

Yeah, only chose the holiday as the grant I wanted, I didn't go into much detail on the application as I have HRC on DLA award and sent them in my tax credit award letter, should I of gone into loads of detail?

No you don't need to . I just put that as the first thing and we got it so I think it works.

We booked an all inclusive because we cannot leave the hotel with my son , its too dangerous with him, so we booked an all inclusive in Egypt (my husband was dying for it im scared) . It cost us £2032 for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children and family fund paid £500 otherwise it would have cost us £2532

It's probably more expensive now we booked earlier .
