Amounts vary depending on the type of appeal, who you use and exactly what you want them to do, but it will be several thousands. Not all offer a fixed fee.

Unless there is a specific reason F2F is required, hearings are normally virtual or dealt with on the papers so you don’t physically have to go anywhere.

Have you tried the sunshine academy? You can hire an advocate which is about 100 per hour

If this is a content/placement appeal then I wouldn’t recommend a paper hearing. Although a paper hearing will be quicker, it is generally not recommended for BFI appeals.

No I.
just bf .
esply F .
esply just need more SALT .

not sure I need more OT ( no contact sport anyway. And kid has ongoing physio outside school in nhs . Plus insole ) .

Not sure about school shrink service . ( as quality can vary )

Maybe more Lego theraphy will be good .

but main thing is SALT ! for sure .

i do privately 45 mins group session per weekend . But worry not enough .

ehcp says SALT 16 hours
OT 7 hours

per year .

My post still applies even if it is only B&F.

While you are appealing it is a good idea to learn more about EHCPs, including what they can and should include. Even if physio is provided via the NHS it should be in F. OT and physio cover different things and certainly isn’t just about contact sport and 7 hours a year is not sufficient for a DC with ASD.

Not sure about school shrink service . ( as quality can vary )

There’s no such thing a ‘school shrink service’. If MH therapies are included in F training, qualifications and experience can be included.

Maybe more Lego theraphy will be good .

It isn’t about what will be good. It is about what is reasonably required as demonstrated by evidence.

Your appeal won’t be registered if you haven’t got a mediation certificate yet.

Ewrika · 29/04/2024 14:58

Thanks I got the certificate now !

nhs is seeing my son in hospital gym class now . using their facility on site.
So I don’t know whether there is any need to ask physio to come to school inside EHCP .

OT woman was :( :( :( :( :(
said heart issue is heart issue . Irrelevant to my OT report .
we will send some other OT in anyway to make much much more detailed plan for him . Which won’t be my job anymore . It will be my colleague job .

the main thing is speech that I have so far registered appeal for .

(( maybe the school shrink was on the house by the current senco while we waiting for EHCP appeal . he gotta be seen weekly once by a shrink to talk about feeling .
so is other kid in class if they have ASD or adhd .
))

his main issue is anxiety and ocd wash hands . And give up attempt of talking / making friends to kids as in fear of been mocked or rejection .

Senco replied to me : no more to add from my side .

when I told her I am appealing for more salt . Do u have anything wish to add .

Whether the physio is provided within school or not it should be in the EHCP.

If OT is required then it needs to be in the EHCP regardless of which OT delivers the provision.

Are you sure the person the school is using is a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist and not a member of school staff trained to deliver interventions? It is very unusual for state schools to have a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist to see DC on an ongoing basis outwith EHCPs.

Ewrika · 29/04/2024 17:20

I don’t think it’s qualified .
even when in private school .
the consellor was not really qualified . I contacted 8 organisations to check her full name .she doesn’t belong or registered with any shrink organisation….or society ….. or any license

Then she isn’t a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Ewrika · 29/04/2024 18:20

Yes she is “ counsellors “ ( in private )
making fee paying pupil mums feeling v special and feel like “ freebie “
