LA have not agreed to a placement at a specialist school what now?

Just what the title says really! I’m devastated. My son has autism and he is not doing great in mainstream school but I’ve just had an email to say the LA discussed it at panel and they don’t agree to him moving to a specialist school.

What do we even do now?

Appeal.

Do you have the right of appeal at the moment? If so, appeal. If not, depending on the circumstances, push the LA to finalise then appeal or push them to formally refuse to amend then appeal.

How are B&F? You should appeal those too. What is your evidence like? Think about independent assessments.

there is apparently no such thing as panel now (since covid) in our county the decision is made by one person. Appeal, appeal, appeal! Good luck!
