what i did was never had the money. th moment dd was entitiled to motorbility it went on the car. that way i never missed it.
we are on our 3rd now and it is good. the only thing we pay for is diesal.
we have a renault master W.A.V now and we could never have afforded that.

My parents have a renault Espace on motorbility.

they don't have to worry about a thing as everything is taken care of.

DS isn't entitled to the higher rate but if he was, i would take the care.

Oh and you can get a grant to cover teh deposit for the car.

We would like to get a motability car. we will need wheelchair access but I have been told that the adaptions will cost as much as buying a new car. Are there any other options?

we are just about to get our 3rd mobility car. first one last a year before we had to change it as couldnt fit all 3 dd's in it.

its nice and easy to set up, any problems with the car u just call the garage.

i think it is worth it for a normal car, because with dh credit problems (thats whats happens when you get seriously ill and can no longer work and pay bills etc) it means we cant actually afford to buy a car, and would be hit with high interest rates etc if i applied.

we have never had the money from mobility, when dh was awarded it, our old car had been run over by a 32 tonne LGV the week before.

there is a grant system.

If you ring teh motorbility people they can take your details and complete teh forms over teh phone.

I think they just decide if the car is actually needed or if you just want a bigger car.

misdee · 29/03/2008 19:56

trace2, is your dd old enough to get mobility? sorry to ask, but i thought it was 3 and over, and surely she isnt three already? is she? (if she is then time has gone v v v fast)

oh right

do you have at least 12months left of your current award? you need that minimum to get a car on the contract hire scheme
